AMEET SHAH SELECTED AS LEADERSHIP NJ FELLOW
Posted on February 02, 2012
Ameet Shah, Founder and CEO of Conigent, was one of 42 professionals chosen throughout the state to be a Leadership New Jersey Fellow. Leadership New Jersey is a non-profit, charitable organization that seeks out, honors and challenges a select group of New Jerseyans who have the potential to provide the leadership needed to solve problems of statewide significance. Shah was selected on the basis of ability, demonstrated interest in the community, achievement in his profession and potential for responsible and effective leadership.
Through a year-long seminar program, Fellows are informed about the key issues shaping the future of the state and challenged to take on wider responsibilities to make New Jersey a better place in which to live and work. Graduation takes place December 6. Fellows remain active in a graduate network.
“I’m very proud to have been chosen as a Leadership New Jersey Fellow,” said Shah, whose commitment to serving the larger community is intrinsic to Conigent’s 1-1-1 mission, which includes participating in at least one company-wide charitable event per quarter, helping nonprofit organizations with free IT consulting services, donating one percent of Conigent’s profits to a philanthropic cause, and giving employees one paid day off per quarter to partake in individual charitable projects.

Conigent
Haddonfield
This technology consulting firm focuses on enabling business transformation by moving companies to cloud-based systems. It’s cutting-edge business, and Lucille Wurtz, customer relationship management director, says that’s one of many reasons it’s such an exciting place to work. But it’s also the company’s commitment to giving back that she says stands out. Conigent’s unique 1:1:1 philanthropy model means giving 1 percent time (employees get four paid days off per year to volunteer their time); 1 percent service (Conigent offers free consulting services to nonprofits); and 1 percent profits (the company donates one percent of profits to support community outreach initiatives, education, technology and employee-inspired volunteer projects) to those in need.
“A lot of companies talk about this kind of thing but don’t necessarily follow through,” says Wurtz, who has volunteered with the Alice Paul Institute as well as Habitat for Humanity. “Conigent’s philanthropic efforts have been a key differentiator for myself and many of the employees. Our next venture is the Cathedral Kitchen in Camden.”
Wurtz says the laid-back atmosphere is also appreciated. There’s no formal dress code. The company founder and President Ameet Shah has become known to wear sandals around the office. “The atmosphere is conducive to an open dialogue and nurtures the creative approach,” says Wurtz. “It’s not uptight or rigid. Still, I have to say, I’ve never seen people work as hard as I have here.”

Conigent Receives Philly 100 Award
Posted on September 30, 2011

Conigent recently received word that the company is the recipient of The Philadelphia award designation. The Philadelphia 100 is a merit based program. Only companies that are among the fastest growing, privately-held companies are awarded the Philadelphia 100 designation. The integrity of the process and the resulting list makes the Philadelphia 100 one of the most sought awards in the region.
Started in 1988 by the Entrepreneurs' Forum of Greater Philadelphia, The Philadelphia Business Journal and the Wharton SBDC, the Philadelphia 100 has recognized some of the region's finest companies when they were just beginning to emerge: Mothers' Work, Fiberlink, Urban Outfitters, Forman Mills, Kremer Laser Eye Center, and Primavera Systems, just to name a few.
This program culminates in a gala event every fall where the fastest growing, privately held companies are recognized. The event is one of the City's premier business events. This year's keynote speakers include Ed Rendell, Brian Tierney, Michael Emmi, Carol Ammon and Steven Lagos.
